Jorge Bustamante

He is a Soto Zen monk. Coming from the line of Master Taisen Deshimaru, he received the Dharma Precepts on September 8, 1985 at the Temple of Gendronniérè (France).

He was an active member of the Associatión Zen Internationale for several years. He opened the first Zen Dojo in Argentina in Buenos Aires.

He left the institution in 1990 and, two years later, founded the Ermita de Paja, an independent center dedicated to the pure practice of zazen. (Shikantaza).

In 1995, he met Master Roshi Sama Tangen Harada at the BUKKOKUJI Temple (Japan). Since then, he has maintained close contact with him, visiting him on various occasions and following his teachings.

Currently, he continues to exercise the spiritual direction of the Ermita de Paja, as well as giving lectures and organizing sesshins both inside and outside the country.
