Kathleen Baird-Murray

Kathleen Baird-Murray is a journalist and author who writes a monthly column for the Financial Times called Beauty Insider (Life and Arts section) as well as articles for British Vogue.

While she was beauty director at Tatler magazine she wrote her first non-fiction book about beauty, How to Be Beautiful, the Thinking Woman's Guide, which was well received in the British and Australian press. Her first novel, Face Value, was published in the USA in 2008 and was inspired by her many years working as a beauty editor on glossy magazines. Joan Rivers sent her a card saying how much she enjoyed it.

In addition to her journalism, she is currently working on a second novel set in England and California as well as a forthcoming Vogue book about the fashion career of Ralph Lauren. She is also overseeing her family's imprint of her late mother's childhood memoir, A World Overturned, by Maureen Baird-Murray, set in Burma (Myanmar).
