But there is so much more!
I have been a full time youth pastor for over 35 years and I have loved almost every minute of it. People often tell me that the youth keep me young, but I believe that each of us has to focus and create our own youthfulness. I may age naturally in life, but I hope I never get old. Getting old is a decision!
I have had some personal run ins with ghosts and it is from these encounters that I became a believer. While I do not understand how they can be among us, I have seen some freaky things and I know it was more than dust in the eye or the glimmer of a reflection. People ask me how I can be a Christian minister and believe in ghosts. I don't see how my faith has anything to do with the ghosties.
I began writing these (and many other) stories on January 2nd, 1992. I just sat down as a New Year's Resolution and went to work putting an idea I had down on paper. In that year I wrote about 20 stories - not all good, but a few had merit. I continued in the years to come, and after I had accumulated about 60 of them, I thought maybe I'd get a few of them published. Thus The Ghosts of Paw Paw Lake.
Making the book even more special was collaborating with my oldest son, Daniel, who is a wonderful artist. Dan went with his impressions of scenes as he read the stories and from his imagination comes the wonderful illustrations for the book.
