Mark Grotelueschen, PhD, is a Lieutenant Colonel in the USAF, and currently serves as Professor of History at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. He is the Chief of the Military History Division in the Department of History, and has served as the Chair of the Academy's African Studies Group. He teaches courses in military, African, and American history; holds degrees from the USAF Academy, the University of Calgary, and Texas A&M University; and is the author of The AEF Way of War: The American Army and Combat in World War I (Cambridge UP, 2007) and Doctrine Under Trial: American Artillery Employment in World War I (Greenwood, 2000).
