Jane S. Gabin

From the time she found a volume of the poetry of Southern poet Sidney Lanier in a box at the back of an antique shop in Rye, England, Jane S. Gabin has been fascinated by overlooked writers. Her books have sought to bring recognition to talented individuals whose lives and work deserve more attention. The most recent, American Women in Gilded Age London, represents ten years of research. A native of New York City, Jane received her BA from Queens College and her MA and PhD degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and currently divides her time between Manhattan and Chapel Hill. Beginning her career as an educator by teaching English, she has also worked in university admissions and as a college counselor in NYC independent schools. She has taught at Queens College, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Meredith College. Currently, she lives in North Carolina, where she is a freelance college counselor and pursues her writing. “TheP aris Photo” is her debut novel.
