Jonathan Spangler

Jonathan Spangler specialises in the history of monarchy and the court of France in the early modern period. He writes about the court of Louis XIV and the French high aristocracy, especially the dukes of Guise, as well as the independent Duchy of Lorraine. Dr Spangler teaches history at Manchester Metropolitan University (UK), is the Editor of The Court Historian, and frequently comments in national and international media on news events involving the British royal family.
