James Barilla

James Barilla is the author of two creative nonfiction books about the human relationship to the natural world, including West With the Rise (University of Virginia Press) and My Backyard Jungle: The Adventures of an Urban Wildlife Lover Who Turned His Yard Into Habitat and Learned to Live With It (Yale University Press). He is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he teaches creative nonfiction in the MFA program.
