Tim Coates

I have a new novel which is called 'Emil Zadek, writer', about the 'velvet revolution' in Prague in 1989, where I was present.

My other books are mainly based on archives of British or American history

Four are novels :

- Patsy, the story of Mary Cornwallis West, which has just been 'optioned' for a TV series.

- Delane's War, the story of John Delane of The Times and Florence Nightingale

- How The Good Day Ends, set in New York

- Sweet Jenny Rankin, set in the English Forest of Dean

One is the story of an English seaside town :

- Aldeburgh , A Song of the Sea

And there are three series of books derived directly from actual historic government papers :

- Argonaut Papers : which are eBooks in the Kindle Store

- Uncovered Editions which are paperbacks

- Moments of History which are illustrated books

The documents in these series have been chosen for the extraordinary stories they tell of incidents in government . Because they are contemporary accounts they reveal not only the curious dealings of public bodies but also the ever changing cultural view of what is correct and proper . They are all beautifully written and told by whichever official undertook the role

There are also two reports about public libraries the most recent of which is 'The Freckle Report 2020'
