Paul R. DeHart

In addition to The Social Contract in the Ruins, I am the author of Uncovering the Constitution's Moral Design and editor (with Carson Holloway) of Reason, Revelation, and the Civic Order: Political Philosophy and the Claims of Faith. I have published articles in Polity, Critical Review, Locke Studies, Perspectives on Political Science, National Affairs, and the Catholic Social Science Review.

I am a Professor of Political Science at Texas State University in San Marcos where I have taught courses primarily in political philosophy since 2009. Before that, I taught at Lee University in Tennessee from 2005-2009. I hold a Ph.D. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin (2005), an MA from UT Austin also in Government (2000) and a BA in Political Science and in Philosophy, summa cum laude and with major honors in political science, from Houghton College, now Houghton University (1998).

In addition to political philosophy, I am a classically trained vocalist (I studied with Paul Giles, a founding performer of the Boston Lyric Theatre). And I live in Central Texas with my wife, Robyn, two daughters, 2 dogs, and a cat.
