Leonardo Mazzei

Leonardo Mazzei is a strategic communications specialist who leads communication for the Structured and Corporate Finance Department of the Inter-American Development Bank, supporting private sector investments in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has authored four books on the role of communication to enhance the sustainability performance of large infrastructure. Prior to the IDB, he worked as senior communications officer for the World Bank, assisting governments on difficult reform programs and high-risk projects. For fifteen years, he has led communication interventions in Africa, Central and East Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America with a focus on governance, infrastructure, and private public partnerships. He has extensive experience in political risk analysis, stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
