Anne Nelson was born in Crows Nest, Indiana (7 miles northwest of Indianapolis) but grew up in the states of Virginia and North Carolina where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. After earning a doctorate and working in Florida, she completed post-doctoral work in telecommunications and electronic business at Stanford University. Nelson is a Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW), is Microsoft and Novell certified, and is a graduate of the Executives Institute of the Kenan-Flagler School of Business. For over a decade she was a professor in Pau, France at École Superieure de Commerce where she taught in their global MBA partnerships with Stockholm University and National School of Business, Bangalore, India. In addition to being a professor, Nelson is also a management consultant and retired corporate media executive. She has published over 100 academic journal articles, textbooks, invited chapters, and instructors’ manuals in the fields of knowledge management, entrepreneurship, media, gender, and enabling technologies. Her current research and writing interests are focused in lifestyle entrepreneurship motivation.
