Arthur G. Gish, ("Art Gish") is the author of six books and was active in peace and justice work for over fifty years, before his tragic death in a farming accident in July, 2010. He grew up on a farm in Lancaster County, PA, joined the Church of the Brethren, graduated from Manchester College, and Bethany Theological Seminary. He was a conscientious objector to the military draft and worked in Germany and Austria for two years of alternative service. He joined a Christian Community called New Covenant Fellowship, was a father and grandfather, worked as an organic market farmer, traveled as a speaker, volunteered as a community mediator, and worked with the Christian Peacemaker Teams in the West Bank and Iraq. He is known for his humor, integrity, and love for all peoples. His latest book, Muslim, Christian Jew, The Oneness of God ad the Unity of our Faith was completed before his death and published two years later.
