H. Lee Willis

H. Lee Willis is a widower who retired after fifty-six years in the electric power industry doing various jobs including lineman, lead engineer, manager, executive for a large power equipment manufacturer, and co-founder of what is today Danovo Energy Solutions, a major consulting and solutions company for the electric and data-center industries. For several decades, he was one of the electric industry’s go-to experts on the future of electric usage and technology, and among the first to predict the current growth of the data-center and AI industry and its electric consumption.

A Life Fellow of the IEEE, he is the author of seven technical books on power engineering and electric utility management, four in their second or (soon) third editions, three books on model trains, and two novels. A devout Christian who obtained an M.Div. at age 74, in retirement he works in his Church and as a part-time volunteer chaplain in charity hospitals, nursing homes, and hospices in central Carolina, and writes mysteries and ‘hard science’ science fiction, his favorite type of reading.
