Dan Doyle is the Founder and Executive Director of the Institute for International Sport (www.internationalsport.org). In this capacity, Dan has created such programs as the World Scholar-Athlete Games and National Sportsmanship Day.
Dan has published four books. His first novel, Are You Watching, Adolph Rupp? won widespread acclaim, including praise from James Michener, who described Doyle’s work as "Fascinating and impressive. I envy Doyle's skill in keeping the readers attention."
In 2008, Dan published Volume I of The Encyclopedia of Sports Parenting. Volume l is the winner of two book awards: The ForeWord Book Award and The Independent Publishers Book Award. Mark Murphy, President and CEO of the Green Bay Packers, describes the book as: “Brilliant and serves a real need in the Athletic Community.” Volume II of The Encyclopedia of Sports Parenting was published in September, 2013. Professor G. Louis Heath, in a review for The Sport Literature Association, wrote: “Wonderfully written. I hope Doyle’s Encyclopedia inspires parents and their kids to a higher mental plane; it might dawn on them that if Dan can be a more complete person so might they. I recommend the Encyclopedia of Sports Parenting highly to parents and their young athletes as well as to coaches, athletic departments, fans, sports scholars, and to libraries everywhere.”
Dan's second novel, An African Rebound (www.africanrebound.com), was published in April of 2013, and has generated acclaim in the United States and abroad. Novelist Harlan Coben wrote: “Dan Doyle’s poignant An African Rebound will inspire you, intrigue you, and move you in unexpected ways.” Basketball legend Julius Erving wrote: “Deeply touching and fascinating.”
Dan is now writing the sequel to An African Rebound and is finishing a play on the life of baseball legend Shoeless Joe Jackson. He finds writing to be a wonderful creative outlet and he never misses his regular early morning session.
