David Whitford

Author David Whitford is a former sportswriter (Sport magazine) turned business journalist (Inc. magazine, Fortune magazine) currently writing a history of UNITE HERE, the hospitality workers union. His stories have appeared in Esquire, GQ, Sports Illustrated and UU World. He was a named plaintiff in the landmark case Tasini v. New York Times Co., which went all the way to the Supreme Court in April 2001; the resulting ruling guaranteed important rights for freelance writers. He is a proud member of National Writers Union.
