Hi, I'm a former Primary Teacher from the UK now living in France. I enjoy writing maths and science based stories, sketches and poems for children of different ages. I met Simon Hickton, the co-author of many of my books when he was Deputy Headteacher at a school in Yorkshire. I told his class I was going to read them my maths based stories to them and over an hour later as his class filed out one young man came up to us and thinking he was being very clever said, "I thought we were supposed to be doing maths!" Simon and I looked at each other wryly because we had been doing maths for over an hour but as it had involved a cowboy story set in "Certain City", a courtroom drama where "Paul Percentage" had battled it out with "Farhana Fraction" trying to prove that their form of maths was the best and the medieval dilemmas of the new lord of a castle working out averages the boy had switched off his "I hate maths" filter and engaged in the stories. So began our partnership that led to both "Using stories to teach" series. I've also written several non-fiction science and maths books for primary age children. I've had the privilege of visiting schools all around England sharing my stories with children, as well as visiting schools in Wales, France, Belgium, Germany and Egypt
