Al Judge

Al Judge is a best-selling author, professional photographer, and retired engineer living in Sedona, Arizona. Throughout his diverse career, Al has applied a deeply analytical, problem-solving mindset to everything from corporate product design to digital photography and human longevity.

After earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Al enjoyed a distinguished 37-year career at Black & Decker. He spent 23 of those years managing innovation and developing new product concepts, an experience that inspired his foundational business book, Innovation's Missing Link.

This same mechanical, "under-the-hood" approach is the cornerstone of his highly successful digital photography series. Recognizing that many people would rather be taking pictures than sitting in a classroom, Al has authored 21 books that replace confusing jargon with clear explanations and rich illustrations. His ability to build a solid foundation for accelerated learning led to his definitive guide on the Exposure Triangle holding the #1 spot in its Amazon category for eight consecutive years. In March 2012, the Sedona Area Guild of Artists (SAGA) honored his visual work by naming him one of the Best Artists of Sedona.

More recently, Al turned his investigative focus toward health and wellness. At age 75, he successfully reversed his own diabetes and insulin resistance in less than five months using only diet and fasting. Now 79, Al shares his extensive research on metabolic flexibility, the microbiome, and ancestral eating in his fully updated book, The Diet Fallacy. He continues to expand on these longevity principles and share practical daily advice on his YouTube channel, Al Judge — Growing Young.

Whether he is demystifying camera mechanics, outlining corporate innovation strategies, or exploring the science of human metabolism, Al’s writing is designed to steer readers past common misconceptions and straight toward practical, life-changing results.
