Dianna J. Shandy

Dianna Shandy is Professor Emerita of Anthropology at Macalester College and Professor of Anthropology at Augustana College. An award-winning teacher, scholar, and academic leader, she has spent her career exploring culture, identity, migration, and the ways people make meaning in their lives and communities. In addition to serving in senior leadership roles at both institutions, including as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Augustana College, she has worked to advance teaching, learning, and institutional change in higher education. Through her writing, Shandy brings an anthropologist’s curiosity, keen observation, and deep appreciation for human stories to a wider audience.
