Karin Gottshall

Karin Gottshall is a poet and educator. She lives in Vermont and teaches creative writing at Middlebury College. Her poems have appeared in The Kenyon Review, New England Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and many other journals.

Her most recent book, Eclipse Season, won the Minds on Fire Open Book Prize and was published by Conduit Books & Ephemera in 2026.

Gottshall received a BA with an emphasis in creative writing from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in Writing from Vermont College. Her first book, Crocus, won the Poets Out Loud Prize in 2007 and was published by Fordham University Press. Her second book, The River Won’t Hold You, won the Ohio State University Press/The Journal Wheeler Prize in 2015.
