Talia Mae Bettcher

Born and raised in Canada, Bettcher did her undergraduate work at Glendon College before moving to Los Angeles to complete her Ph.D. at UCLA. She is a professor of philosophy at California State Univeristy, Los Angeles (CSULA).

TRANS STUDIES: contemporary issues related to gender, sexuality, race, and the self. the nature of transphobic violence and its relationship to sexual violence and racial oppression.

EARLY MODERN PHILOSOPHY: The immaterialist philosophy of George Berkeley (1685-1753). Views about consciousness and the soul.
