Thomas W. Benson

Thomas W. Benson is the Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of Rhetoric Emeritus at Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania.

He is a former editor of The Quarterly Journal of Speech; Communication Quarterly; and The Review of Communication, and a former fellow at the Shorenstein Center at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. In 1985 he founded CRTNET, a listserv for students and scholars interested in rhetoric and communication. He is editor of the series in Rhetoric / Communication of the University of South Carolina Press.
