Daniel Beer

Daniel Beer is a historian of Modern Russia and teaches at Royal Holloway College, University of London. He was educated at Cambridge and Harvard. He has written widely on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and is the author of The House of the Dead: Siberian Exile Under the Tsars (Penguin, 2016; Knopf, 2017) and Renovating Russia: The Human Sciences and the Fate of Liberal Modernity, 1880-1930 (Cornell, 2008).
