Dayton Lummis

Dayton Lummis was born in New York City, raised in the green hills of Pennsylvania, educated in the Ivy League, nurtured in California, rough-edged in the mountains of Colorado, and finally mellowed (somewhat) in Santa Fe, "The City Different." He has been a Director of cultural history museums in places as diverse as Cripple Creek, Colorado, and Santa Rosa California. He has extensively explored the back roads of the West, which is a recurring subject in several of his books. His East Coast background is featured in his book "When Earl Was King Neptune." Dayton has travelled inEurope and South America, always interested in how people live and what. their future might be like. This is a recurring theme in his more recent books of contemporary commentary. He has been called by the actor Peter Holden "a cosmic town crier." Most would agree, and say "perhaps more."
