James L. Wakefield

We field tested the first versions of Sacred Listening in 1985-2005. That tells you a lot about me as an author. I am willing to be patient and let God use and correct my mistakes. Along the way I have made some great friends. My reading of materials on discipleship in the 1980s convinced me that evangelical Christians need a more focused view of Christian maturity, and this led me into PhD studies at Marquette University. The Moltmann bibliography grew as a side project with my dissertation on Jürgen Moltmann's eschatological anthropology.

I am one of several thinkers behind the Transitions workbook. The chapter on "God's Grand Story" is mine, and I served as a theological editor for the other chapters.
