Kathryn L. Nelson

I come from Scandinavian-American stock, more noted for our work ethic than our wordsmithing. I married my college sweetheart, a Kuwaiti, and have spent many years dividing my time between Minnesota and Kuwait. Our son Nayef is 39 delightful years old and gave us the opportunity to join Down syndrome world, a place I've found even more interesting than Kuwait.

My obsession with all things Austen dates from the 1995 BBC/A&E production of Pride and Prejudice, when, like so many others, I concluded that no one commands the English language like Jane Austen. With my first novel, Pemberley Manor, I joined the throng of writers who pay homage to Austen's genius.
