Jamil Zainasheff

Jamil Zainasheff is an award-winning brewer, author, beer judge, and podcaster. He has brewed every style recognized by the Beer Judge Certification Program, amassing first place or best of show awards for every style of beer, mead, and cider. Recognized for his expertise in brewing and recipe formulation, Jamil has published approximately 100 articles and has co-authored three highly acclaimed brewing books, Brewing Classic Styles (Brewers Publications, 2007), Yeast: The Practical Guide to Beer Fermentation (Brewers Publications, 2010), and The Modern Homebrewer (CAMRA 2024). His books are found on the desks of many craft breweries around the world. Jamil has also hosted shows on The Brewing Network for two decades. In 2021 Jamil retired from Heretic Brewing Company, the 37 bbl brewery and distillery he and his wife started in 2010. Heretic in its first year of production took medals at the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. Jamil currently is working on more articles about beer travel and brewing.
