Lisa Cliggett

As a cultural anthropologist concentrating on economic and ecological anthropology, Lisa Cliggett’s scholarly work centers on the intersection of culture with economic systems, including the environmental foundations of the economy. Her research program is driven by a commitment to use anthropological and social science perspectives and methods to reveal the many ways that economic systems, human behavior and environmental change intersect over long time spans to produce poverty and well-being, power and resistance, environmental sustainability and collapse, and social justice and inequality, and how these processes play out on the ground in peoples’ day-to-day lives.
