Jackie Alpers

Jackie Alpers is a cookbook author, professional food photographer and recipe developer widely recognized as one of the leading voices on Sonoran cuisine, the rich culinary tradition of the Arizona-Mexico borderlands. Her work explores the history, symbolism, and cultural significance of regional food with a depth that goes beyond the recipe.

She is the author of four cookbooks, including Taste of Tucson: Sonoran-Style Recipes Inspired by the Rich Culture of Southern Arizona, an official selection of UNESCO's Tucson City of Gastronomy and a winner of both the RUSA Award and the Eating the West Cookbook Award.

Jackie has contributed recipes, food photography, and writing to the Food Network and Refinery29 since 2013. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Food & Wine, Serious Eats, Bon Appétit, Condé Nast Traveler, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Better Homes and Gardens, Good Morning America, NPR, CNN, and dozens of other national outlets.
