Amy Hoffman

Amy Hoffman is a writer, teacher, and long-time LGBTQ activist. She's published four books. The first three were memoirs: Hospital Time (1997), about taking care of friends with AIDS; An Army of Ex-Lovers: My Life at the Gay Community News (2007); and Lies About My Family (2013), about her family's immigration history. Her most recent book is the Provincetown novel, The Off Season (2017). Hoffman was editor in chief of Women's Review of Books from 2003 through 2017. She teaches in the Solstice low-residency MFA program at Pine Manor College and does editing and consulting. Her MFA is from the University of Massachusetts.
