Raymond Karelitz

Raymond Karelitz is best known as an SAT-guru, having taught test-prep (SAT/ACT) to over 30,000 students over the past 35 years. His "Coach K in action" can be viewed on You Tube or through his company, Test-Prep Hawaii (www.test-prepHi.com). He is the author of numerous vocabulary-building novels, flashcards-books, and SAT Vocabulary-Building dictionaries, the most ambitious of which is the recently-republished SAT & COLLEGE DICTIONARY of 7000 POWER WORDS, a venture that was begun in 1985 and completed in 2007. It is considered by many as the #1 definitive dictionary of College-focused words.

Raymond Karelitz is also the editor of Presley Love's ROCK LYRICS, TITLES & TRIVIA book-series. Having discovered in 2014 a rare treasure trove of Presley Love's complete Q&A rock-music questions spanning the rock/pop era 1955-1989, Raymond decided to undertake the mammoth enterprise of sorting and reorganizing a project that was begun between him and Presley in 1992, a project that yielded one small 400-question edition. This seemingly insignificant book landed on the desk of a major publisher, the result of which yielded 3 nationally released volumes, one even included in the Time-Warner Christmas catalogue and selling over 60,000 copies. The project then remained dormant until the serendipitous discovery of the massive Presley Love collection in a storage locker shared by Raymond and Presley. After 4 years of diligent compilation, the series was released in its entirety and is included here, under the publishing auspices of Amazon.com's book-publishing wing.

Mr. Karelitz is also the official biographer of film-legend George Tahara, whose HAWAIIAN LEGENDS films were shown in Hawaii's schools during the 1960s-1990s, seen by over 100,000 students. The epic film BOYHOOD OF KAMEHAMEHA was shown simultaneously on Hawaii's CBS, NBC & ABC affiliates in 1973, with over half the island's population tuning in.
