Steve Doty

STEVE DOTY, PE, CEM, LEED AP

Mr. Doty grew up in Oregon's Willamette valley, the son of an accomplished high school chemistry teacher. After some early work as an air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic, Mr. Doty graduated from the University of Central Florida and began a long career as a Professional Engineer, a path that ultimately led to writing, speaking, and now teaching.

Mr. Doty holds PE licenses in five states as well as a variety of certifications, but his true value in the marketplace comes from experience with commercial buildings: mechanical system design, automatic controls, commissioning and energy management. "After 25 years of it, I know what makes them tick."

Energy management is becoming more important as utility costs increase, and Doty's timing is good. The ability to balance technical with practical is popular with many, and a trademark of his writing and presentations.
