I am Tom Staszewski, a Polish writer, painter, and photographer.
I write crime fiction, psychological thrillers, and surrealist noir that blends psychological darkness with elements of the grotesque and the visceral.
My stories explore the fragility of memory, the absurdity of everyday life, and the unsettling truths hidden beneath seemingly ordinary circumstances.
There is a touch of Gombrowicz, Lynch, and Bukowski in my work, but above all, there is my own distinctive voice — visceral, uncompromising, and sometimes laced with dark humor.
Beyond writing, I am passionate about painting, photography, bonsai, and pottery, particularly throwing clay on a potter's wheel.
I also write practical guides exploring how creative and hands-on activities can bring personal fulfillment, encourage self-expression, and offer an escape from the worries and relentless pace of everyday life.
For me, creativity is more than a profession. Whether through words, images, or clay, it is a way of discovering new perspectives and finding meaning in the act of making something with my own hands.
