Ken Greenebaum

Ken is a Digital Media veteran. Currently at Apple, Ken combines perceptual models and image processing to adapt computer displays to human perception thus freeing professionals and consumers from only viewing and authoring content in specific reference conditions. His work has led to features such as EDR, and TrueTone.

Ken developed the Audio Anecdotes series of books after leaving Microsoft Research in an attempt to share his fascination with sound, signal processing, and applications with a larger audience and just perhaps to advance the industry.

Before Microsoft Research Ken worked on digital audio, video, and graphic at Silicon Graphics, and created custom DSP solutions at Digital Video Processing.

Inspired by Andrew Glassner's Graphics Gems, Audio Anecdotes attempts to share concepts and algorithms from a wide range of professionals and practitioners. Audio Anecdotes include not only motivation and explanation, but working C source code to experience and incorporate into your own work.

Ken has contributed to more than 50 patents in fields related to digital signal processing, perceptual models, color science, CODECs, digital audio, High Dynamic Range imaging, and video.
