Oscar Montero

Oscar J. Montero is an independent researcher, translator and writer. He was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, graduated from UNC, Chapel Hill, and now lives in New York City. He has taught Latin American literature and culture at Lehman College, the Graduate Center, CUNY; SUNY, Stony Brook; Princeton; and Columbia universities. He’s the author of 'The Name Game,' on Cuban writer Severo Sarduy; 'Erotismo y representación en Julián del Casal'; 'José Martí: an Introduction'; 'Las rutas de Julia de Burgos,' a dramatic piece; 'Bobby’s Cuba.
