D. Neil Berdiev was born and raised in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and settled in New England, on the East Coast of the U.S. in his late teens. He began writing business books and articles early into his banking career as a way to feed his entrepreneurial and creative drive while adding value to business owners, fellow commercial banking professionals, individuals who are just establishing themselves in the workforce, and many others.
With nearly 30 years in the business world, Neil Berdiev's career crosses several functional fields including general management, operations, risk management, financial/credit analysis, sales, marketing, and business development. He is recognized for significant contribution in commercial banking (lending and credit), investment management, airline operations and training development industries. Neil has grown through the ranks in the commercial banking industry and has worked at national, superregional and community banks such as BankBoston / FleetBoston Financial, Citizens Financial / RBS Citizens, Boston Private, and Cambridge Trust.
The overwhelming majority of Neil's business experiences has been in creating new lines of business, turning around and bringing more than just incremental improvements to existing operations, and bringing innovative ideas into organizations. His writing work continues the theme of providing valuable knowledge and focusing on constant improvement and evolution.
