My ankle tattoo is a lovely dark blue script that states "cacaoethes scribiendi" which means- in latin- "Bad habit of writing" or loosely translated "insatiable urge to write".

That's been the case for as long as I can remember. I write mid grade and young adult historical novels. I am a research geek so this suits me well.

FYI- Home to Mackinac was published by Mackinac State Historic Parks. That entity is the publisher, NOT Michigan State University Press as is mistakenly listed here.

My books are Lilly's Way (1997) Charlie Boy (1998) Home to Mackinac (2006) which I was commissioned to write by Mackinac State Historic Parks in MI, and most recently, Tending Ben's Garden (2009). These are all set in historic Michigan, where I live.
