Chris R. Burger

Chris R. Burger's wide background provides him with a unique perspective on aviation. His background as engineer and educator, along with wide exposure to many different aspects of aviation, drove him to write a manual that lays the groundwork for any prospective pilot's training. His goal is to avoid teaching anything that the pilot has to un-learn later, regardless of where that pilot ends up in aviation.

Chris holds Airline Transport Pilot certificates in his native South Africa and in the USA. He is also a pilot examiner on airplanes, and is rated to fly seaplanes, landplanes, helicopters and gliders. He was once an Air Traffic Controller. His engineering background includes artificial intelligence systems and ergonomics. He is closely involved in research and policy formation for unmanned aircraft.

Chris is an engineer, ambulance jet pilot, flight instructor, musician, radio amateur and a very mediocre triathlete on the wrong side of 50.
