Paul Alexander Clark

Inspired by 20 years as a patient recovering from a traumatic childhood accident, Paul devoted his life to improving healthcare for patients and caregivers.

At eviCore (part of Cigna's Evernorth), Paul leads data science at the inQbator - an innovation hub for emerging solutions utilizing leading AI/ML/NLP technologies to improve healthcare, promote affordability, add enterprise value and drive future growth.

Prior to eviCore & Cigna, Paul served as Executive Director of Healthcare Strategy, Research & Development for Digital Reasoning where he led the application of artificial intelligence technologies to create enterprise solutions with proven ROI across the Quadruple Aim.

At the advent of smartphones, Paul founded and served as CEO of Curate.Health, creating an advanced real-time patient engagement, communication and data analytics platform seamlessly integrating with hospital HIT systems and patients’ smartphones.

At the Health Management Academy, Paul served as Vice President of Research & Education leading the research agenda, education and development for C-Suite executives of America’s leading health systems.

At Press Ganey, Paul originated the position of Director of Knowledge Management where he developed the company’s first Improvement Solutions portfolio. He led a team of researchers conducting quantitative and qualitative research to determine best practices for improving health care quality —- then embedded that intelligence into scalable, commercialized solutions.

Paul’s extensive research portfolio includes two books, two book chapters, over a dozen peer-reviewed original research articles and hundreds of conference presentations. His latest titled “Automating Incidental Findings in Radiology Reports Using Natural Language Processing & Machine Learning” was published by The American Society of Clinical Oncology (May 2019).

Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Public Administration in Science and Technology Policy from George Mason University, a Master of Arts in Bioethics and Healthcare Policy from the Loyola University Chicago, and a Masters of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
