Brian S. Katcher

Brian S. Katcher's varied and well-regarded career as a clinical pharmacist, professor, public health worker, and researcher is reflected in his books. Since the 1980s, he has made steady use of MEDLINE, the National Library of Medicine's on-line database of articles in the medical literature. He shares his insights and facility with this complex system in the second (and final) edition of his MEDLINE book.

He is currently writing a book about drug therapy and the public's health, using a history of science perspective.

He is a consultant to the San Francisco Department of Public Health and mentor to pharmacy students at the University of California, San Francisco.
