Hannah Sigur

Art Historian Hannah Sigur comes to the San Francisco Bay Area by way of a wide-ranging, eclectic career in Japan, Korea and Indonesia, New York City, and Washington, DC. An adjunct lecturer since 2003 at San Francisco State University, University of California-Davis, and elsewhere, she teaches a range of Asian art traditions and also American decorative arts and material culture of the Gilded Age. She lectures across the country, especially on the subjects of Asian influence in Western decorative arts and the International Exposition movement in the United States at the turn of the 20th century. She is the author of The Influence of Japanese Art on Design (Gibbs Smith, 2008), and co-author of A Master Guide to the Art of Floral Design (Timber Press, 2002), listed in Christian Science Monitor's Best Books of 2002 and now in its second edition.
