Andrew L. Yarrow

Andrew L. Yarrow, a historian and journalist, is the author of the new book, Man Out: Men on the Sidelines of American Life, which examines the often ignored struggles of millions of American men. He has published four prior books--Thrift, Measuring America, Forgive Us Our Debts, and Latecomers. A longtime reporter with The New York Times, he has also taught post-WW II U.S. history at American University, worked for several think tanks and advocacy organizations (Brookings, Public Agenda, the Progressive Policy Institute, and Oxfam), was a political speechwriter, and has consulted for a number of international organizations, foundations, advocacy organizations, and other think tanks. He also has published many articles in scholarly and popular publications, including the San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today, the Baltimore Sun, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the LA Times, and New York Daily News, and the Washington Monthly.
