Steve Lafler

Steve Lafler is a graphic novelist specializing in low brow humor peppered with piercing transcendental revelations about, um, strong coffee and stuff like that. He is best known for his Bughouse graphic novels, set in an indigo insect noir Manhattan of the 1950s; Be-Bop is king while a band of buggy musicians struggle with addiction. In February 2021, his "BugHouse From the Top: The Complete BugHouse" debuted at Amazon.

In July 2021, Lafler released "Death Plays a Mean Harmonica", his graphic novel set in Oaxaca, Mexico. Join expats Rex and Gertie on a wild ride to the remote highland jewel of Oaxaca, Mexico. Meet Eduardo, a crafty 2000-year old Zapotec vampire, El Rey Pelón (the skinny, pot-bellied fungus who drives a taxi), and of course Death, who plays a mean harmonica.
