Jesse M. Pines

Jesse Pines (born 1972) is a board-certified, practicing emergency physician, professor, innovator, and writer of books. He also writes for both the academic literature and lay press, with prior columns in TIME magazine and Slate. He serves as the Chief of Clinical Innovation at US Acute Care Solutions, a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Drexel University and a Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at George Washington University. He previously served in leadership and teaching positions at GW and at Univeristy of Pennsylvania. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Brookings Institution, a consultant to the National Quality Forum, and has been a Senior Advisor to the CMS Innovation Center. He is passionate about improving care for the acutely ill and injured patient through his clinical, academic, policy, and innovation work, and disseminating results to a wide audience of providers and the general public.
