James C. Denison

Dr. Jim Denison is the president and founder of the Center for Informed Faith and serves as theologian in residence of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, based in Dallas. Dr. Denison is passionate about helping others know and follow Jesus. He has done extensive work in apologetics, worldviews, and cultural studies. His examinations of historical evidences for Jesus, the Bible, and Christianity have been used in many venues. His daily devotional, "God Issues Today," confronts cultural issues from a spiritual perspective and is e-mailed each weekday to more than 13,000 subscribers all over the world. He has also authored five books: Wrestling with God: How Can I Love a God I'm Not Sure I Trust?; The Bible—You Can Believe It: Biblical Authority in the Twenty-First Century; The Myth and the Manger; Life on the Brick Pile: Answers to Suffering from the Letters of Revelation; and Seven Crucial Questions about the Bible. His weekly Sunday school commentaries are used by BaptistWay Press as an online teaching tool. Dr. Denison has a doctor of philosophy and a master of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a doctor of divinity from Dallas Baptist University. He has taught Ph.D. seminars at DBU and served as chairman of their board of trustees. He served as pastor of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas for 10 years, leaving in February 2009 to pursue his new ministry with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He has also pastored churches in Midland and Mansfield, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia. He and his wife, Janet, also an author and speaker, have two sons, Ryan and Craig.
