I'm one of America's top 100 Barts! My latest book is "Father Humor: Mastering the Art of the Dad Joke" (2026). In January, 2027, "The Mutants Take Manhattan" will be released on an unsuspecting world. It's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book for Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA).

I've also written two other funny science-fiction CYOA adventures: "Time Travel Inn" and "Time Travel Inn 2." Jeff Kinney (author of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”) said they have “mind-blowing adventure and heart-stopping thrills!” (Publisher Shannon Gilligan said, “'Time Travel Inn' is the funniest CYOA ever written.”)

I've written many other books, including “The Pocket Guide to Spy Stuff” and my funny sci-fi novel, “The Drake Equation.” My essays have appeared at places like McSweeney's, AARP, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and the Oregonian. Oh, and I'm a longtime middle-school teacher.

Fun Fact: One of my books was Amazon's bestselling kids' book for a whole day.
