Philip Edward Phillips

Philip Edward Phillips (1969-), who earned his Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University, is professor of English and associate dean of the University Honors College at Middle Tennessee State University, where he teaches American, British, and early European literature. He is the president of the Poe Studies Association (PSA), the executive director of the International Boethius Society, and a member of the Robert Frost Society. His current research interests include late antiquity, nineteenth- and twentieth-century American poetry, eco-criticism, and spatial literary studies. His edited collection of essays, Poe and Place (Palgrave, 2018), received the PSA's J. Lasley Dameron Award. His most recent edited collection, Poe Spaces: Within and Beyond the Spatial Turn, is forthcoming from Palgrave in 2025.
