Erik S. Herron

Erik Herron is the Eberly Family Distinguished Professor of Political Science at West Virginia University. Prior to joining the faculty at WVU, he was Professor of Political Science at the University of Kansas (2001-14) and a Program Director at the National Science Foundation (2011-14). At KU, he also served as Associate Department Chair (2012-14), Academic Advisor to the Dole Institute (2011), Director of Graduate Studies (2010-11), and Director of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (2004-07). Erik's research focuses on political institutions, especially election rules. He has traveled extensively in Eastern Europe and Eurasia, including a term as a Fulbright scholar in Ukraine and twenty-two election observation missions.
