Charles E. Zech

Chuck Zech is a professor of economics in the Villanova University School of Business where he has taught since 1974. He is the Director of Villanova’s Center for Church Management and of the University’s M.S. in Church Management degree program. He received his B.A. in Economics from St. Thomas University (MN) and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Notre Dame University. Chuck is the author or co-author of 50 articles and 12 books on the topic of church management.

Chuck has served as the keynote speaker at over 60 Catholic diocesan convocations. He is a regular presenter at the Annual Conference of the International Catholic Stewardship Council (ICSC). In 2008 the ICSC awarded him “The Christian Stewardship Award” in recognition of his unique and extraordinary witness to Christian stewardship as a way of life. He has served as a consultant to a number of U.S. Catholic parishes and dioceses, and in 2010 he was awarded the “Lumen Gentium Award” by the Conference for Pastoral Planning and Council Development in recognition of his leadership in the utilization of planning and consultative processes in the church. In 2016 he was named recipient of the “The Monika K. Hellwig Award for Outstanding Contributions to Catholic Intellectual Life” by the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities.
