I have been training and caring for horses for over 30 years. During that time, I have brought home several horses with health and safety issues. Unfortunately,my past experiences are not unique.
Many horsepeople bring home project ponies from the wrong side of the tracks, including the fast track to the slaughterhouse.
With the help of an equine vet and a professional horse trainer, I have done my best to compile
useful information on dealing with health and training issues in the pages of my book, "Give a Horse a Second Chance - Adopting and Caring for Rescue Horses."
I have also included information on how to adopt a horse from a rescue facility.
All kinds of horses are available for adoption from rescue facilities- thoroughbreds, standardbreds, quarter horses, and mustangs.
Horse rescue organizations must be supported, and I intend to use a portion of this website to promote and support their activities.
Thousands of horses went to slaughter last year. No one wants to see these wonderful animals suffer through that process.
Horse rescue workers are breaking their backs, hearts, and their bank accounts trying to save these animals. They deserve your help.
