Allyson Julé

Allyson Jule, PhD, was born in Montreal, Canada, and grew up on the Canadian prairies. She first taught English in schools before becoming an academic; her area of research is Gender and Education. She is Professor and Dean of Education at TWU. Her first book, “Gender, Participation and Silence in the Language Classroom: Shushing the Girls” was published in 2004. She has served as President for Canada’s Association for Women’s and Gender Studies et Recherches Féministes (WGSRF). In 2016, she was awarded the prestigious 3M Teaching Fellowship for teaching excellence in Higher Education. She currently lives in Vancouver, Canada.
